The Betsy Hotel South Beach
1440 Ocean Dr., Miami Beach, FL 33139
Overview
Originally opened in 1942, this 130-room luxury boutique property features the works of world-class talents in their lobby and event venues. In fact, arts and culture are in the hotel’s DNA, as the father of The Betsy’s owner was a three-time Pulitzer Prize finalist in poetry who still makes his mark on the hotel today. The Betsy has hosted hundreds of artists, the owners personally curate the visual art exhibits, and there’s plenty to experience on one of the monthly art docent tours. And don’t forget the music! You’ll enjoy nightly live jazz, chamber music performances, and curated playlists throughout your stay. The Betsy is a true artistic oasis for locals and visitors alike.
The dining experiences at The Besty are brought to you from a storied chef with his own collection of restaurants in some of the world’s best cities. You’ll find local craft beer and cocktails, pizza, Wagyu steak, a raw bar, café cortado, and a bit of everything in between.
As a valued guest, you’ll be treated to numerous amenities including both a courtyard and a rooftop pool, two rooftop decks–both oceanfront and skyline, a fitness center with Peloton bikes, an in-house spa, concierge services, sunrise yoga, and some of the best beachfront views in South Beach. There’s also a beautiful library with a carefully-curated selection of books, a nod to the hotel’s literary history.
Another Betsy perk? Well-behaved dogs of any size are welcomed and 50% of the pet fee will be donated to one local and one international animal welfare organization. And because travelling is stressful, if you unwind with a massage, Fido can too–right beside you! You’ll also want to mark your calendar, as Betsy and Rosa, the Canine Executive Officers (CEOs), host a meet and greet every Friday at 5pm. They’ll even bring their dad, Managing Director Zach Plutzik. Afterwards, head to the Underground Gallery to appreciate a wonderful collection of amazing doggie photography by Carlos Andres Cruz, renowned canine photographer.
